In SAFe, an Agile Release Train refers to teams that are working in harmony in order to achieve their desired goal for the customer. In an Agile Release Train, each team is working independently, with the purpose to make sure each team is working with the same cadence, or in other words the Iteration lengths must be the same and in alignment. This means that the start and the end of each Iteration must be the same for all the teams within the Agile Release Train.
So, in the end, we ensure that we are in constant harmony and synchronised. You could also think of the Agile Release Train as a synchronised swimming team, making sure everyone is aligned on their abilities, capacity and are working towards achieving the same goal.
