What is the role of the system architect in SAFe?
The system architect is someone who has deep knowledge and experience with the solution that the Agile Release Train are developing. They are aligned with the customer value stream, as well as the operational value stream, to ensure that the ART are organized around value creation in a way that best serves the customer as well as the organization.
They will have deep knowledge about each particular solution that is being developed and know how to coordinate or align efforts to ensure the best outcome.
A great system architect will also ensure that a specific solution is aligned with the evolutionary progression of other solutions throughout the organization and help guide the Agile Release Trains to ensure that customers receive working, valuable products that they can deploy in their environments.
