Post meetup notes
Thursday was a great sunny day in London and I arrived early at the venue in Paddington our host was delayed and we started gathering in the reception.
Starting later than we wanted in the reception and then moved up to our designated room we split into teams and worked through a scenario based on a combination of recent clients to map the major knowledge discovery steps. The teams mapped the flow from the perspective of the organisational portfolio and we covered delivery measures and the importance of limiting the work in progress especially at the organisational portfolio level to avoid overburdening, ideas waiting for months and years before they are delivered. Delivering old approved ideas only because their time in the queue is reached.
One of the aims of this scenario is to consider the work at the portfolio, coordination of work across a number of teams and team level and understand the different concerns.
I used the perfection game feedback in this meetup and found it useful.
The Scenario
We used Mapping your work as a kanban system scenario for this exercise.
