What is the final element of the continuous delivery pipeline?
The continuous delivery pipeline in SAFe consists of:
- Continuous discovery
- Continuous integration
- Continuous deployment
- Releasing on-demand
So, we couple the releasing from deployment.
It requires architecture to enable continuous delivery, and so we deploy the code to production – and it’s running on production systems – but we choose to make it visible to our customer based on market condition, customer condition, or customer needs.
For this to happen effectively, we need the architecture to include the entire system, and the final element of that continuous delivery pipeline is the release on-demand capability.
