Why did you choose SAFe over other agile scaling frameworks?
I was reluctant to explore or study SAFe.
I had a misunderstanding that SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) wasn’t the right solution for scaling agile, that it didn’t embody or represent business agility, and that it failed to help people and organizations achieve their goals and business agility objectives.
One day a colleague of mine approached me to let me know that he was going on a SAFe course and asked if I wanted to join. So, I said Yes and walked into the training with an open mind.
You can’t learn everything that there is to know about the SAFe framework in a training course, but I definitely learned enough to dispel the myths I had about the framework and to instil a sense of curiosity about what the framework had to offer and how that could help organizations.
As I learned more, practiced more, and interacted with the SAFe community more, I slowly came to see how powerful and effective this scaling framework is.
Most importantly, I witnessed how clients were actively achieving the results that most mattered to them and consistently saw how organizations were successfully adopting Agile via case studies, conversations with agile practitioners/coaches, and through media.
It’s something that struck me as valuable, and I wanted to work with SAFe to actively help clients and organizations achieve their business agility goals and objectives. I wanted to help people find a solution that empowered them to excel and thrive.
That’s how I got started with SAFe and despite being a seasoned agile practitioner, I continue to learn more about SAFe and agile transformations every day.
Each successful implementation informs the next one, and as we evolve, we continuously improve.
