What is your favourite SAFe success story?
There are many SAFe success stories or case studies that I love, but most recently, the story of Porsche working with SAFe is a firm favourite.

SAFe is one of the most successful agile scaling frameworks in the world because it consistently delivers the results, outcomes, and performance that matters most to executives. The Porsche case study embodies that success for me.
The fusion of technology with traditional manufacturing
The combination of an intensely traditional, hardware manufacturing organization making the agile transformation to achieve and sustain digital innovation is particularly captivating.
As agile coaches, practitioners, and trainers, we often make the statement that ‘every organization is a software or technology organization whether they know it or not’.
The Porsche case study proves this statement true beyond any shadow of a doubt.
The need for strong software engineering capabilities, digital capabilities, and the integration of those software and traditional manufacturing skills makes this an especially inspiring case study.
Even though Porsche build cars, there is still a large amount of software and technology involved.
In many cases, technology enabled functionality or solutions becomes the key differentiator for Porsche and so they needed to embrace Agile, especially considering that is has proven so effective and powerful in the world of software engineering.
That is one aspect of it.
The People element of the agile transformation
Digital or agile transformations are not exclusively about tools or frameworks, they are about the intrinsic and visceral change that we witness in people as they undergo the transition from traditional ways of work to agile ways of working.
The first value in the Agile Manifesto is ‘Individuals and Interactions over Processes and Tools’, and this is often forgotten because organizations focus so intensely on the framework, the tools, and the processes or systems associated with business agility.
As an agile consultant, coach, and trainer, one of my primary responsibilities when leading an agile transformation for clients is to help create an environment where people can excel and thrive.
It is about preparing the environment to shift from rules and predetermined steps to values and principles, from predetermined plans to a process of discovery and learning through experimentation, and to co-creating innovative solutions with people who are passionate about producing great work.
